MIDDLESCHOOL is presenting a video installation featuring the collaboration of Norman Wong, Aaron Kopff, Daniel Grant, Faye Mullen, Mila Victoria, Agi Gutkowska and Parallels at The White House.
A work in progress.
“I wanna go back to my old house…

We did it! Pop Montreal and hosted The Happiness Project and offered us an incredible audience. Starting Wednesday September 30th to Sunday Oct 4th, each day we had a steady flow of enthusiastic music, art and happiness fans! We got hugs, thank yous and folks coming back a second time, weather it was just for the cookies or maybe the smiles we won’t ask, as we enjoyed having you all with us.
Happiness is an infectious feeling and spread in waves both throughout the house and the festival and we’d like to think we had something to do with it. 200-300 people came through the house each day, from 24 month-olds, to teenagers, to 60 year-olds, and we hope each one of you got to taste the fresh baked cookies and to enjoy the art work.
We would like to thank you all for coming to the show and sharing the warmth, hugs, drawings, and smiles! We had an unbelievable weekend in Montreal with The Happiness Project and the POP folks. What a great city, and what a great festival. Thank you!
The artists that participated were incredible and we could not have been luckier to have them all with us. Charlie visited on Saturday night and had a private viewing with the artists. He was deeply moved by the sincerity and thoughtfulness of the presented artwork.

This is a still from another projection-based video art piece that Middleschool conceived of for the David Cronenberg inspired art show that took place during this year’s TIFF at 107 Shaw Gallery. Faye Mullen, a performance and installation artist was the muse and collaborator, along with Agi Gutkowska as the liaison. Parallels‘ Cameron Findlay scored the short video piece and to add some more star power Adrian Grenier of HBO’s Entourage was seen mingling at the opening:
THIS THUNDER - THIS THURSDAY!
Middleschool’s Aaron Kopff, Norman Wong, and Daniel Grant along with Agi Gutkowska, art directing, shot a music video based on classic French New Wave films for the band The Ghost is Dancing. Recreating the scenes from films such as Breathless (À bout de souffle), Jules and Jim, and Band of Outsiders (Bande à part ) was quite a thrill and proved to be a very rewarding challenge.

The track is called This Thunder and can be found on TGID’s new record BATTLES ON released by Sonic Unyon.

middleschool WAS ASKED TO TAKE SOME PHOTOS AT THE LAST BAD DAY MAGAZINE PARTY.
HERE IS A LINK TO THE PHOTOS THEY CHOSE:

The video premiere of Parallels‘ single Ultralight was held at The Ossington. The video filmed at the Wrongbar, was directed by Middleschool (Norman Wong, Aaron Kopff, and Daniel Grant). It is an experimentation in projection and light. The crew had a blast filming this video with the rising electro-synth dance stars.
Toronto’s weekly NOW magazine posted the video on their daily news feed.
