Hey, George posted on June 30th, 2010

Hey, George is a fuckin awesome new short film by Michael Pierro starring Nathanael Chadwick, Meredith Cheesbrough shot by James Klopko, and it’s fresh off a great showing at the 2010 Worldwide Short Film Festival.

Michael and James are part of a fab new collective madebyotherpeople.com. The Other People are a group of like-minded filmmakers, musicians, actors, visual artists and friends living and working in Toronto.

Their blog is a celebration and exploration of the creative process, check it out.

I like!

Here is a clip from one of my favourite films from the gang.

Just remember….

…When Rachel drags George to a New Year’s Eve party the tension that has been building between them for months comes to a head.

What would you do if you could travel back in time? Assassinate Marilyn Monroe? Go on a date with Hitler? Here’s what one guy would do after that: grab all the modern technology he could find, take it to the late 70’s, superficially redesign it all to blend in, start a consumer electronics company to unleash it upon the world, then sit back as I rake in billions, trillions, or even millions of dollars.

The Sound Of Insects: Record of a Mummy posted on June 8th, 2010

A hunter in a remote and idyllic forest stumbles on a make shift tent fashioned from sheets of plastic and containing the mummified remains of a corpse. A detailed journal found on site reveals the man committed suicide by self-imposed starvation. Who was this man? Why did he kill himself in such a manner? Inspired by this true event and by the novella ‘Until I Am a Mummy’ by Shimada Masahiko, Insects sensuously evokes the mysterious man’s last days.
